Jay Butler was born and raised in Oklahoma. He graduated from West Point in 1978 with a Bachelor's in Engineering and served as an Army Aviator, retiring as a Colonel after a 2010 Iraq tour.
Mr. Butler has an MS in Management Information Systems, an MS in Strategic Studies from the Army War College, and is a certified Project Management Professional and Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt. He currently supports the Navy Bureau of Medicine in project management and process improvement.
In 2005, Mr. Butler moved to Front Royal with his wife where they raised their four children. He attends St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was a two-term Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus.
As Happy Creek District Supervisor, Mr. Butler draws on his experience to benefit the community. His goals include preventing EDA-type scandals, supporting first responders, ensuring effective use of School Board funds, and minimizing government intrusion into citizens' lives.
